Sorry my English speaking friends. I forgot to translate my blogs this year. I cannot get used to the idea of having a website in another language than Dutch alone. How fortunate am I.
Let’s get you quickly up to date.
2014 was a great year. I started singing lessons again. Something I did when I was very young. I found Ellen Cox and started in the beginning of this year. It’s amazing how much I have learned in one year. I have of course to sing notes and drive the family crazy sometimes…. but it is all worth it. Ellen is a person that makes me happy. She is very positive and always laughing. I go to singing lessons for fun.
I sang a duet this year for the first time with Jack Crooney a Belgium artist. That was wonderful.
Somewhere in March a couple of photographers came to make pictures of me. You can see a few of them on the Image Gallery.
To improve my techniques I have to study very difficult songs from Whitney Houston nowadays….Not easy at all.
Performing on stage is still exiting. I did a few concerts in the open air this summer, and sang with Folk musicians in Scotland on The Isle of Colonsay. I also was invited in a Summernight Event with some pretty famous Dutch artists and of course I performed on all the regular places around my home town… Also in a Home for the Elderly. I love that. Different songs than I usually sing, but those old songs are catching and when they make people smile and sing with me, it ends up in an afternoon full of energy. I absolutely will do another concert in January.
And than….finally I went to ACE. A professional studio with the people that will make an an real album with me. I could not believe they think I am good enough but they do and I started recording already. Rough Mixes they call it. To me it already sounds beautiful but it is only “rough” they say.
This album will be in Dutch, but I owe it to you all to also make an English one, so I will. But first this one. I will put one rough Dutch song that you all know in English on the Home Page so you have an idea how the recordings sound…I will not forget in 2015 to translate my blog…I promise.
